The Kidney Disease Research Group (KDRG)

The KDRG is a non government non profitable organization which started its work about a decade back (2009). It is primarily organized by the Nephrologists and sub-sequently was enriched with supports of doctors of other specialties like Cardiologists, Endocrinologists, epidemiologist and specialists of laboratory medicine etc.

In recent days, one of the principle fights of mankind is against non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, cancer, etc. Most of these non-communicable diseases are either cause or result of chronic kidney diseases. So kidney diseases are of great importance. But in Bangladesh awareness for kidney diseases, facilities for diagnosis and management of kidney diseases are very limited. On the other hand the total number of kidney patients is also not known due to lack of true epidemiological surveys in Bangladesh.

For these reasons Kidney Disease Research Group (KDRG) is formed to increase the facilities for early detection of kidney and allied diseases, to increase epidemiological surveys for kidney diseases and other related non-communicable diseases (NCD).
